First Night Boston

As has become a yearly tradition in Boston, new year's eve features a series of Ice Sculptures throughout the city as part of the First Night celebration. Below enjoy a sampling of a few favorites.

Located on the waterfront, behind the Intercontinental Hotel, this ice sculpture was beautifully placed in front of the hotel's outdoor tree to add to the beauty of the sculpture.

Current "lying" in front of Copley Square's Boston Public Library, the regal lion can still be seen.

Walk across the street from the lion sculpture and you'll be able to catch this triumphant "2016" sculpture.

Also located at Copley Square is this above piece featuring quite a few arctic animals.

The Minions can be found at Faneuil Hall.

Last but not least, The Mermaid promises that if you step behind, you are transformed for a moment. The interactive ice sculptures have become more prominent within the last few years. This one is at Battery Wharf and the Coast Guard base can be seen in the background.

~Stay tuned for the Birthday Blog as The Red Balloon will be celebrating very soon and you are invited to join the party!

Year in Photos

This is not the Year in Review.
This is just a tribute.

Jokes aside, there has been so much fanfare regarding the Year in Review. The Red Balloon heard you and is providing you with the Year in Review, in photo form. Until the Year in Review is set and finished, please enjoy:

I'm sure at this point you're wondering how it is that Jack Black, Uzo Aduba, Cape Cod Central, the Wang Theatre, and a single Minion are all together in one place , well...that's just a sampling of the fun from this past year and there is more on the way!

Happy 2015 folks!
