The French Room offers the perfect ambiance for tea complete with a violist who spends the entire time playing the most beautiful melodies to accompany an already wonderful experience within the hotel. Winter is a great time to enjoy a warm cup however, tea time is great whatever the season. The possibilities for tea include: chai, white, green, black, herbal infusions, and the menu goes on seemingly endless.
Along with the Taj Tea, there is a three tiered tray which provides an array array of delicious finger sandwiches and canapes.

First Night Boston

As has become a yearly tradition in Boston, new year's eve features a series of Ice Sculptures throughout the city as part of the First Night celebration. Below enjoy a sampling of a few favorites.

Located on the waterfront, behind the Intercontinental Hotel, this ice sculpture was beautifully placed in front of the hotel's outdoor tree to add to the beauty of the sculpture.

Current "lying" in front of Copley Square's Boston Public Library, the regal lion can still be seen.

Walk across the street from the lion sculpture and you'll be able to catch this triumphant "2016" sculpture.

Also located at Copley Square is this above piece featuring quite a few arctic animals.

The Minions can be found at Faneuil Hall.

Last but not least, The Mermaid promises that if you step behind, you are transformed for a moment. The interactive ice sculptures have become more prominent within the last few years. This one is at Battery Wharf and the Coast Guard base can be seen in the background.

~Stay tuned for the Birthday Blog as The Red Balloon will be celebrating very soon and you are invited to join the party!
